Eating Out
Eating Out
There are so many places to choose from, and whilst most are good, we have come across a few that are bad.
We are listing places that we have visited, and that have offered good food, with good value for money and good service.

The places listed have been visited by us, and are personal recommendations, not advertisements.
All are suitable for visiting with children.

Tenby:

Tenby House Hotel - 01834 842 000
Offers very good value meals. The food is consistently very good. They do a good range of meals on their 2 for £10 deal and the plaice and chips meal is wonderful, and the wraps are very good too. Children's meals are big, and come with a little goody bag to keep your little ones amused for a while.  There is an outside area to sit if the weather is fine.

The Lifeboat Tavern - 01834 844 948
In the winter they do an excellent dish of cawl, prices are a little more expensive than the Tenby House Hotel in general. They do a reasonably priced steak sizzler meal which is very good, and there is outside seating available.

The Buccaneer Inn - 01834 842273
Prices are a little more than both the Tenby House and the Lifeboat, although the food is excellent, and with large portions.  Outside seating is available.

Number 25 Cafe - 01834 842544
They do a very good cooked breakfast in here, and very nice paninis. You can sit outside if the weather is fine.

Blueberry Restaurant - 01834 845785
The big breakfast in here is one of the best, and comes with chunky fresh toast.  The paninis and baguettes are also very good. You can also purchase free range eggs from here.  You can sit outside if the weather is fine.

Bali Hai - 01834 845678
Eat in or take away cafe.  We have been here for their wonderful cakes and ice cream.

Snack cafe at Tenby harbour -
There is a small cabin at the harbour selling (take away) light snacks, ice creams, tea and coffee.
Very reasonable prices, 80p for a mug of tea.  You are welcome to sit at the bench in front of the harbour with your snacks.

Pembroke:

Rowlies Fish & Chips - 01646 686 172
2 Main Street.
This is a take away and also a sit-in retaurant. On the outside it looks like a traditional fish and chip take away,  but when you sit in to use the retaurant you realise they are much more than a fish and chip shop. The staff are friendly and the restaurant is clean.  The menu is huge with a range of salads, jacket potatoes, paninis, fish, chicken, full english breakfast meals and more and also includes a very good children's menu.  The portions are large and even the childrens meals are a very good size and the prices across the range of the menu are very good value. The food is cooked and presented very well.  We will definately be coming back soon!   April 2013.
Personal Recommendation - The Builders Breakfast.

Haven Coffee Shop - 01646685469
1 Westgate Hill (opposite entrance to castle)
This is part of The Haven Christian Centre.

A lovely place to come and relax and have a light lunch, or just a drink and maybe a cake or ice cream.  There is a sectioned off area for small children to play safely.  The staff are friendly and helpful.  There is a lovely courtyard at the back of the building with tables and chairs, which is lovely on a sunny day.
Personal Recommendation - Cream Tea.

Manorbier:

The Castle Inn - 01834 871268
Large gardens to the rear, accommodating to dogs in the garden but unsure if allowed in the bar.  They serve very good food.
UPDATE - SEPT 2015 - The management has changed and we went for a visit on a Sunday afternoon. Limited menu available and now all quite expensive, it was very disappointing.  We ordered a chicken balti and this resembled more of a vegetable soup. It was very watery with lots of vegetables not normally found in a balti. There was a small amount of what appeared cheap chicken.  It was not unpleasant but was not what you expect in a chicken balti and for the high price it should have been a lot better.

Jameston:

Swan lake Inn - 01834 871262
Home made fresh food, reasonable prices, large family room. This pub has good prices for food from light snacks to main meals.
Nice beer garden to sit in if the sun is shining.  Excellent childrens' meals, big enough for older children too and not just the little ones!
